Doppler Effect

Physical modification of a sound when in motion; for instance, it can be quite apparent in the sound of engines when cars are passing by.

Characteristics:

  • Universal sound of motion
  • The physical modification can harden the identification of an unusual sonic event
  • Announces an itinerary, a beginning and an end point
  • Can also provides spatial cues of its surrounding
