All sounds that have been recorded in studio from a Foley artist; usually linguistic and centaur sound effects such as footsteps, door knobs, friction sounds in all genres (clothes, crashes, etc.), etc.
- Reconstructs the diegetic reality of the location sound that has not been recorded
- Will need post production mixing to be truly composited into the diegesis (see: Worldising)
- Can be seen or heard of not well synced or worldised
- Can be clearer to identify a particular sound offscreen but will require a good mix to be fitted in the diegesis
