Worldising

Incorporation of a post production sound into the physical diegetic world (ex: adding reverberation on a sound object emitted in a church, as part of the film)

Characteristics:

  • Make the diegesis appear more real
  • Provide spatial coordinates and information about the surrounding
  • Takes some post production time

Related inductor effect: Dialogue recording and post production; Sound object
Complementary effect: Spatial signature
Opposite effect: For-me-ness
